Margaret Bugonzi founded Shield Carers in 2023, shortly after immigrating to the United States from Uganda. Before moving to the United States, she volunteered and worked in senior homes, senior centers, Adult family homes, and health care facilities where she gained good experience while interacting with the sick and elderly.  She promptly gained more knowledge in the healthcare industry and settled in Puyallup, Washington. Her primary focus is on supporting her family,  caring for others, and helping people when they need it most.

Margaret was the primary Caregiver for her mum and dad who later passed on in 2020 and 2015 respectively.

This love and care demonstrated to her parents and the many sick people she cared for, swiftly translated into inspiring her to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. The caregiving field aligned perfectly with her personal and professional goals when she founded Shield Carers.

Margaret’s first client was a Parkinson's patient.  With the care demonstrated, Margaret gained tremendous love from the family and friends of her patient who are now a strong pillar in the establishment of Shield Carers.  They all requested for caregivers like her and this inspired her even more to find Shield carers.
